Neither are newsworthy.
Not according to emails I've been getting today regarding this.
Makes you question the competency of Siloam and their worthiness as a charity. But then, there is nothing like failure to spur yet more monetary reward, at least in the governmental sector, which thinking has infected mainstream society.
Bear spray at the Y? Don't care. Better than a taser, tho.
probally same reason media did not say anything about the seious bomb scare at St.Vital and the pepper spray incidents.

No shock value = no story. Newsworthy or not. I guess a homeless person freezing to death on a winter's night is not shocking enough. Like the 10:03 post said "Who cares?" As long as I have central heat and a warm bed to sleep in.
