Garbage Day 22
Three weekly garbage pickups have come and gone through Point Douglas since this overflowing dumpster behind Main Street near Jarvis Avenue was first noticed. As this photo taken today shows, the trucks have left it alone, rotting in the sun and rain for at least 22 days. Perhaps Fresh IE can provide fresh ideas to mayor Katz on how to handle this term's election theme (Do the basics) better than he did his first campaign theme (Attract and retain the young). Ensuring that competent garbage-men--not the privatized kids hopped on speed to get them through the night shift--are removing trash thoroughly and promptly would be a good start.

Perhaps you should take charge and clean it up.
Others will follow.
But that takes a leadership persona, and not a lazy affair, "I know everythng, you now shit attitude".
I believe you ment "you know shit attitude". Not "you now shit attitude". I could be wrong however.

I wonder how 'Anonymous' knows anything about Mr. Galston's persona...
Of course I agree they should clean it up. But as an ex-city worker, I can safely say, that the competance level of any methed out teen is at par with the Utility workers within the city of Winnipeg.
I certainly had fun in my days there, but I have never seen so many, do so very little at a work place. It's really a shame, so much more could be done with the current staffing levels.
Winnipeg's youth are a sorry useless lot. Right across the board.
Attract and retain youth?
There may be a point where you realize we're better off without them. Let them go to the holy grail of Calgary.
